Hell’s Revenge on a CVT: Did the Nissans Survive?

We point three used Nissans from Cathedral Valley toward Swing Arm City and Moab, stress-testing much-maligned CVTs on bentonite “glue” clay, razorback ridges, and slickrock climbs—Devil’s Backbone, Hell’s Revenge, Hell’s Gate, even Tip-Over.

There’s zip-tie “engineering,” a dragging under-shield in the rain, a cave gas station carved into a mountain, and a roof rack that ejects at speed (the Nissans keep going). We even benchmark the whole CVT debate in Kawasaki KRX1000 UTVs before returning to our stock crossovers. The flies are relentless, the jokes are cheap, and the lessons are paid for in dust and side-tilt nerves. Did the transmissions survive?
